She / Her

Anjula Prakash is an emerging comedian who brings laughter to open mics about once a week around Auckland.  This year, she’s been part of some exciting shows, including the Asian Comedy Takeover at the International Comedy Festival, a wild night at Whammy Bar for Muckaround, an immigrant-themed gig at MoveSpace called Immhahagrants, and a fun set in Hamilton at the Nirvara Lounge. With her upcoming show "Mind if I Chime In?" at the Auckland Fringe Festival in September 2024 and a road trip to Whangarei for more comedy in August, she’s keeping busy. When she's not on stage, Anjula sharpens her improv skills in a cozy dojo space with a small group of comedians led by James Smith, ensuring she’s always ready for whatever punchlines come her way.
